WHAT IS UNDERGROUND RECOVERY?

Underground recovery is used for the safe disposal of waste and the long-term stabilisation of mining claims. In underground recovery, the material properties of the waste are used to secure older, decommissioned mining claims. So-called backfilling is needed in limited areas of former mining fields, which do not meet today's requirements. In these cases, mining authorities stipulate mandatory backfilling.
